jamie, this is a proposed layout for my book. the conotative side of the spread will vary in format probably,  but mostly I wanted to create spreads for these two sides of the story.

    Good that you are thinking of a clear systematic approach that delineates the page layout based on the connotations and denotations.

    Remember, however, that a single image has both denotations (color snapshot of a snake) and connotations (a snake is dangerous & repulsive).
